Ghana Christian High International School (GCHIS) Male Basketball Coach Charles Adjei-Fodjour has circled his team’s incredible desire to win as the main reason behind GCHIS’ success.
The school’s Male Basketball Team won the International Schools Sports Associations Games (ISSAG) Basketball Tournament played at the Ghana International School on Saturday, January 27.
GCHIS beat Morgan International School 18-15 in the final game to win back to back titles in the competition’s Boys Division.
Last year’s winners trailed by six points in the game’s early minutes but rallied to clinch the three point win and send its supporters into frenzy.
Speaking to Basketballghana.com, Coach Adjei-Fodjour was full of praise for his team after losing eight players from last year’s winning group.
“We lost eight players from last year’s team…they left to university so this was more like a rebuilding process but these guys have a certain desire to win and I think that was what pushed us” he said.
GCHIS beat SOS Herman Gmeiner 14-10 in the semifinal to move to the final game. GCHIS Female side placed third in the Girls Basketball Competition.
