Ghana International School (GIS) is hosting this year’s International Schools Sports Association Games (ISSAG) Basketball and Hockey events today.
The games will have several schools compete for honours in the aforementioned sports disciplines at the pristine institution in a few hours.
The likes of Tema International School, Ghana Christian International High School, Morgan International School and SOS Herman Gmeiner are penciled to compete in the games.
Akosombo International School are defending female basketball champions after beating Tema International 8-4 in last year’s finals.
Host GIS placed third and an improved performance remains the objective heading to today’s competition. Akosombo is aiming at making a third straight appearance in the final game.
In the Boys Division, Ghana Christian High International School are defending champions; the team beat SOS Herman Gmeiner 18-17 in overtime in last year’s finals.
Morgan International and GIS placed third and fourth respectively in the division. The games are organized annually to foster close relationships between schools and students in the educational sect.
