Host of this year’s International Schools Sports Association Games (ISSAG) Ghana International School (GIS) ended up as the top seed in Field Hockey by placing first and third in the Girls and Boys Divisions respectively.
However, Ghana Christian High School (GCHIS) topped the Male Basketball field by beating Morgan International School 18-15 in the final game.
The win ensured GCHIS retained the title it won last year after a hard fought win over SOS Herman Gmeiner International College.
GCHIS battled from 6-9 first half deficit to win the matchup on the back of consecutive three point plays as Morgan International turned the ball over on many occasions.
In the Girls Division, defending Champions Akosombo International School (AIS) lost 0-3 to SOS in the final with GCHIS placing third ahead of host GIS.
GIS missed the opportunity of playing in the final game before a partisan crowd after losing 0-7 to AIS in the second semifinal game.
The Athletics Championship scheduled for March 2 is next on the ISSAG calendar.
