Ghana Center Amida Brimah played as Austin Spurs brightest spot in the team’s crushing loss to Rio Grande Valley Vipers in the NBA Gatorade League played this morning.

Spurs lost 98-129 to Vipers in what is the biggest loss for the defending league champions this season despite excellent play from Brimah.

The 6 foot 11 inch defender registered his team’s only double double by scoring 11 points and gathering 10 rebounds off the bench.

Amida played 26 minutes and also led the game in blocked shots with seven rejections while adding three assists in one of his best games this season.

Spurs have suffered from the loss of key players Derrick White, Julian Washburn and Jaron Blossomgame to NBA teams and consistent performances like this could soon put Brimah in that bracket.

Spurs was led by 2018 first round draftee Lonnie Walker who scored 14 points and had eight rebounds with Drew Eubanks scoring 12 points.

Austin Spurs have been invited to compete in this year’s FIBA Intercontinental Cup which takesplace in February.
