Trials to select players to Ghana’s Under 18 National 3×3 Basketball Team begins on Saturday, January 26 at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The selection process is reported to take the form of a competition dubbed “Young Lions Cup” which runs from January26-28 with outstanding talents set to be picked for the National team.

Basketballghana.com gathers players who competed in the just ended Sprite Ball Championship are likely to feature in the trials.

Due to the change in the West African nation’s education system at the Senior High School level, a significant number of students are on vacation paving the way for them to make the journey to Ghana’s premier stadium.

The trials come on the back off Ghana’s impressive outing in the 3×3 circuit last year with the nation’s Female team competing at the African Championship.

This year’s Sprite Ball had 12 schools compete in the Boys Division and eight schools compete in the Girls Division. Mfantsipim School and Kumasi Girls Senior High School were crowned champions in the respective divisions.
