Peristeri GS has lost for the second week in a row in the Greece A1 Basketball League following a 70-96 defeat at the hands of AEK Athens.
In the Round 14 game that had two Athens based clubs face off, reigning holders of the Basketball Champions League-AEK- came out on top.
Ghana Forward Ben Bentil played 27 minutes off the bench for Peristeri scoring four points and gathering 10 rebounds.
All ten rebounds were recorded on the defensive end on a night the 6 foot 8 inch player struggled to get going on the offensive end.
Bentil missed all six field goal attempts, scored one of four three point attempts and one of two free throw attempts respectively.
The loss is Peristeri’s second in as many weeks resulting in a fall from third to fourth place in the standings with 10 wins in 14 games.
AEK moves to third place after the win improved the team’s record to 10 wins in 14 games; Olympiacos leads the standings with Panathinaikos in second place.
Peristeri take on fifth placed Promitheas at home on January 26.
