Exactly a week ago, Mfantsipim School and Kumasi Girls Senior High School were crowned winners at the 2019 Sprite Ball Championship.

The 13th edition of Ghana’s biggest high school basketball competition was held at the El Wak Stadium in Accra with 20 schools participating.

Mfantsipim won the Boys Division thanks to a 35-16 win over surprise package West Africa Senior High School (WASS) in the final.

The win earned Mfantsipim its fifth trophy entrenching the Cape Coast based school as the most dominant in the Sprite Ball Championship.

It also ended Mfantsipim’s three losing streak in the Boys Division final; Mfantsipim lost in 2016, 2017 and in 2018 against PRESEC-Osu.

In the Girl Division, Kumasi Girls beat Mfantsiman Girls Senior High School 22-14 in the finals to earn its second title at the competition.
