STU (white) v Accra Technical
In light of the restructuring measures taken by Ghana’s Education Service, the Ghana Polytechnics Sports Association (GHAPSA) Games has a new name.

The multi sport competition is officially the Ghana Technical Universities/ Polytechnics Sports Association (GHATUSA) Games as a result of the changes.

The games have been a major event on the tertiary sect’s calendar for decades and have an extensive history of producing some of the best talents in multiple sports for Ghana.

10 Technical Universities and Polytechnics are scheduled to field athletes to compete in various sports disciplines for honours in the upcoming edition.

This year’s games will be held at the Accra Technical University (ATU) from Friday, February 1 to Sunday, February 10 in the West African nation’s capital per information reaching Basketballghana.com

Athletes are set to compete in basketball, football, table tennis, volley ball, track and field events, and netball among others.

The host-ATU-has dominated the competition particularly in basketball as it rolls into next month’s competition as defending champions in the Male Division. ATU is a former winner of the Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship.
