2019 Sprite Ball Champions Kumasi Girls Senior High School have returned to Kumasi and commenced what is expected to be a long media tour following its success in the just ended competition.
Kumasi Girls won gold in the competition after beating Mfantsiman Girls Senior High School 22-14 in the final game played at the El Wak Stadium in Accra.
This is the second straight year the team has won the Sprite Ball title after winning its first in 2018 thanks to a 30-29 overtime win over Accra Wesley Girls High School.
The team has already made an appearance on Angel FM’s widely listened to “DS Sports” program after returning to Ghana’s Ashanti regional capital.
Kumasi Girls had a full entourage in the studio with the entire playing unit including Most Valuable Player Award winner Abigail Gyamfi and coaching staff including Coach of the Tournament in the Girls Division Zibo Brown present.
Brown heaped praise on the school’s authorities for supporting the team’s campaign in Accra. A full take on the team’s visit is attached to this story.
