After a disappointing campaign in the 2019 Sprite Ball Championship, Pope John Senior High School and Minor Seminary (POJOSS) Basketball Team Coach Kofi Elias has stated his outfit is looking past the disappointment.

He made the statement after exiting the competition at the preliminary stage in his maiden run with the team at Ghana’s biggest high school basketball competition.

Prempeh College and West Africa Senior High School (WASS) progressed from Group B ahead of POJOSS in the just ended competition.

Speaking exclusively to Basketballghana.com, Coach Elias lamented the poor run but highlighted the team’s readiness to move on.

“Apparently, majority of this year’s team are in SHS 3 so our next step is to recruit and rebuild for next year’s edition” he said.

POJOSS rolled into this year’s competition as a semifinalist favorite despite losing Coach James Okine who led the team to two bronze medals in three years but exited at the first round.

Mfantsipim School won the Boys Division thanks to a 33-16 win over WASS while Kumasi Girls Senior High School beat Mfantsiman Girls SHS 22-14 to win the Girls Division.
