The 2019 Sprite Ball Championship has ended successfully at the El Wak Stadium in Accra with Mfantsipim School winning the Boys Division.

In the Girls Division, Kumasi Girls Senior High School retained the national title thanks to a 22-14 win over Mfantsiman Girls Senior High School.

Despite winning silver and recording its best result in the school’s history at the competition, Mfantsiman’s finals loss was doomed as a result of a terrible start.

The team trailed 0-11 for most parts of the first half as the defending champions got off to a blistering start to the game.

Mfantsiman gradually warmed itself into the game scoring six straight points in the final minutes of the half to trail 6-11 at half time.

Thanks to stellar play from Kumasi Girls Center Abigail Gyamfi, the 2018 Champions managed to score points while neutralizing Mfantsiman Point Guard and Captain Hikma Sanusi.

Placing second is an encouraging step for Mfantsiman after missing out on the last two editions and Coach Ernest Koomson was quite pleased with his ladies efforts.
