Brown won the top Coaching Award in the Girls Division.

Kumasi Girls

Coach Zibo Brown has delivered on his promise to retain the Sprite Ball Championship Girls Division title with Kumasi Girls Senior High School.

The 2019 Sprite Ball wrapped up over the weekend at the El Wak Stadium in Accra with Kumasi Girls lifting the trophy for the second straight year.

Kumasi Girls beat Mfantsiman Girls Senior High School 22-14 in the final game to clinch back to back titles; the team is the third to do so in the history of the competition.

Ashanti Regional rival T.I. Ahmadiyya Senior High School and Sacred Heart Senior High Technical School recorded back to back wins in previous editions of Ghana’s biggest high school basketball tournament.

Prior to the commencement of this year’s tournament, Coach Brown was adamant his side has what it takes to retain the title.

Thanks to a rocket 11-0 start and great play from Most Valuable Player Award winner Abigial Gyamfi, Kumasi Girls continue its reign atop female high school basketball in Ghana.

Winning the title again rounds up brilliant month for Brown who tied the knot with his long term partner before the team departed to Accra for the tournament.
