Prempeh (white) v Osu-PRESEC
WASS (yellow) v SEKCO

Prempeh College and Sekondi College (SEKCO) have exited the 2019 Sprite Ball Championship at the quarterfinal stage at the El Wak Stadium in Accra.

SEKCO’s dream run to the quarters in its maiden appearance in the competition as it fell 18-29 to West Africa Senior High School (WASS).

A strong second half start was key in WASS’ win as the Adenta based school held a 10-8 half time lead but stretched its led to 13 via a 24-11 result.

Sekondi College looked out of sorts in the opening quarterfinal matchup and for the first time in this year’s competition, SEKCO played with naivety.

In the second quarterfinal matchup, Prempeh College failed to progress from this stage again as it lost 20-22 in a nail biting game against defending champions Osu-PRESEC.

A terrible start cost Prempeh a shot at winning the game as the Kumasi-based school trailed 0-11 midway through the first half.

Prempeh battled hard in the second half and trailed 20-21 with 14 seconds remaining in the game but couldn’t complete the come back to crash out.
