St. Louis players celebrate qualification
Ashanti Region’s representatives in the Girls Division of the 2019 Sprite Ball Championship have qualified to the semifinal stage.

Kumasi Girls Senior High School and St. Louis Senior High School have progressed from the group stage in impressive form.

Both schools topped groups in the preliminary stage with Kumasi Girls winning Group A and St. Louis winning Group B.

Defending Champions Kumasi Girls won all three games including a 43-16 win over Mfantsiman Girls Senior High School.

The school is attempting to be the first to successfully defend the national title since T.I. Ahmadiyya Senior High School last did in 2014 and 2015.

Kumasi Girls take on Shama Senior High School in the final four as St. Louis play Mfantsiman Girls in the other semifinal game.

. Louis beat Shama Senior High 21-9 in its final game in Group B to complete a trio of wins for St. Louis that is playing in its first Sprite Ball since 2011.

Two time silver medalist Accra Wesley Girls failed to progress.
