Shama Senior High School (SHASS) and West Africa Senior High School (WASS) have recored impressive wins in the Girls Division of this year’s Sprite Ball Championship.
This year’s Sprite Ball tipped off earlier today at the El Wak Stadium in Accra and ends on Saturday, January 12 with eight Girls schools competing and 12 in the Boys Division.
Shama beat Eastern Regional representative Nkawkaw Senior High School 20-9 for its first win in Group B in a low scoring game filled with tough shooting displays for both teams.
Western Regional Champs-Shama-held a 13-9 first half lead and held Nkawkaw scoreless in the second half to clinch the important win.
In the follow up game, WASS blew out Mawuli Senior High School with a 33-6 win to make up for the 9-16 loss to Mfantseman Girls Senior High School.
The big win keeps WASS in the competition and still in the hunt for a semifinal appearance. The team plays Kumasi Girls High School in the final game.
