SEKCO (blue) v PRESEC.

Sekondi College-SEKCO- has made a triumphant entry into the Sprite Ball Championship history books with a stunning win over 2018 Champions Osu-PRESEC.

SEKCO clinched a 26-20 win over Presbyterian Senior High School (Osu-PRESEC) in the second Group A game of the competition leaving PRESEC’s chances of qualification in a precarious position.

The Western regional side is making its maiden appearance in Ghana’s biggest high school basketball tournament after an outstanding regional qualification campaign.

SEKCO led 12-10 at the end of the first half and held on for the win resisting a strong comeback from PRESEC who came within a point of tying the score.

Worsening matters for last year’s champions, Captain Emmanuel Awuwime was hit with a technical foul for talking back at the referee.

PRESEC needs to Bishop Herman College to beat SEKCO by a small margin to stand a chance of progressing to the quarterfinals.

In the opening game, Osu-PRESEC registered a 33-9 win over Bishop Herman College. SEKCO are favorites to beat Keta and top the group.
