Sekondi College (SEKCO) Male Basketball Team Coach John Mawukor has expressed utmost delight with his team’s performance at the 2019 Sprite Ball Championship.
Despite its novelty in the competition, SEKCO showed little signs of naivety as the school topped Group A ahead of highly tipped favorite PRESEC-Osu.
PRESEC-Osu won last year’s title after a remarkable run that had them beat record winners Mfantsipim School twice including a 25-22 win in the final game.
Speaking to Basketballghana.com, Coach Mawukor beamed with pride about his team’s achievement and its chances of going all the way to the final game.
“We are happy about that and the boys are well determined to get to the semis if possible win the trophy but they’ve worked for it and it is showing that whatever they did the hard work they put in is showing” he said.
By topping Group A, SEKCO has qualified to the quarterfinals and is due to play West Africa Senior High School (WASS) tomorrow at the El Wak Stadium in Accra.
