Hammond attempts a free throw
Mfantsipim School has orchestrated the biggest win thus far in the 2019 Sprite Ball Championship at the El Wak Stadium in Accra.

The record winners of Ghana’s biggest high school basketball tournament recorded a 59-14 win over Keta Business College.

In blowing out the Volta Region representative, Mfantsipim has taken a big step towards qualifying to the quarterfinals of this year’s competition.

There was never any doubt about Mfantsipim’s dominance after securing a 34-9 win in the first half punctuated by high flying dunks from Center Kuuku Mensah-Baidoo and Justus Hammond.

Guards Nana Kofi Owusu and Samuel Owusu controlled the pace of the game dishing out assists to open teammates for easy baskets.

After suffering a humiliating 14-45 loss in its opening game last year, the Botwe lads left nothing to chance delivering a purposeful performance.

Mfantsipim takes on St. John’s School from Sekondi in its next matchup while KETABUSCO need a win against the Western Region representative.

Sprite Ball is organized by leading sports firm Rite Sports Limited.
