Mfantsipim School has recorded its second straight win at the 2019 Sprite Ball Championship to top Group D at the El Wak Stadium in Accra.
The Sprite Ball record winners clinched the second win via a 39-19 victory over St. John’s School in another comfortable win for the “KwaBotwe Boys”.
Mfantsipim topped Keta Business College 59-14 in the opening game and is an early favorite to win the title. Mfantsipim has four titles.
In Group B, Prempeh College ensured it stays in contention for a place in the quarterfinals thanks to a hard fought 35-28 win over West Africa Senior High School (WASS).
Prempeh trailed early on In the game after a quick start from WASS but a great marksmanship from three point range got Prempeh back in the day to lead 14-13 at the end of the first half.
After losing 17-23 to Pope John Senior High in the opening game, Prempeh needed a win to avoid to stay in the hunt for a quarterfinal spot.
