Eastern regional representatives in the Male Division of the 2019 Sprite Ball Championship have been eliminated from the competition following the conclusion of games at the group stage.

Pope John Senior High School and Minor Seminary (POJOSS) and Koforidua Senior High Technical School (KSTS) failed to progress to the quarterfinal stage.

KSTS lost 16-42 to Opoku Ware School and 18-36 to Adisadel College while POJOSS started off well with a 23-17 win over Prempeh College but stuttered in a 21-33 loss to West Africa Senior High School (WASS).

Likewise, representatives from the Volta Region were also eliminated from the competition as Keta Business College and Bishop Herman College failed to register a win between them.

Keta got mauled 14-59 by Mfantsipim School before falling to 17-35 to St. John’s School as Bishop Herman lost 9-34 to fellow debutant Sekondi College and lost 9-33 to PRESEC-Osu.

The quarterfinals, semifinals and final round of games will be played tomorrow at the El Wak Stadium in Accra. Sprite Ball is Ghana’s biggest high school basketball tournament.
