Scared Heart

The 2019 Sprite Ball Championship runs from January 11-12 at the El Wak Stadium in Accra with 12 schools competing in the Boys Division and eight in the Girls Division.

However, the female division will be without all past winners of Ghana’s biggest high school basketball competition except 2018 winners Kumasi Girls High School.

Kumasi Girls won last year’s edition courtesy a 30-29 win over Accra Wesley Girls High School in an exciting final game.

The school managed to successfully defend its regional title with a 17-12 win over St. Louis Senior High School. Both schools qualified to this year’s competition in the process.

On the other hand, all past winners of the division failed to qualify from respective regional qualifiers held late last year.

Three time winners Wesley Girls High School lost out on Central Region’s sole qualification spot to Mfantseman Girls High School.

Two time winners Aggrey Memorial Zion failed to qualify from the zonal level in the above mentioned region ditto 2009 and 2010 winners Sacred Heart School.
