West Africa Senior High School (WASS) is the only school in this year’s Sprite Ball Championship to feature in the Girls and Boys Divisions respectively.

The 2019 Sprite Ball runs from January 11-12 at the El Wak Stadium in Accra with 20 schools participating; 12 in the Boys Division and eight in the Girls Division.

WASS starred in the Greater Accra Regional qualifiers but has a tough challenge in the upcoming tournament after getting drawn in tough groups in both divisions.

In the Male Division, WASS ended up in Group B alongside Pope John Senior High School and Junior Seminary and Prempeh College.

Pope John has won two bronze medals in the past three editions while Prempeh featured in the quarterfinals at the 2018 edition.

In the Girls Division, WASS is in Group A alongside defending champions Kumasi Girls High School, Mawuli Senior High School and Mfantseman Girls Senior High School.

A significant core of Kumasi Girls winning group from last year will compete on January 11 while Mfantseman is a former bronze medal winner in the competition.
