Former students of Pope John Senior High School and Junior Seminary (POJOSS) have made a donation to the school’s basketball team.
The kind gesture comes ahead of this year’s Sprite Ball Championship which runs from January 11-12 at the El Wak Stadium in Accra.
POJOSS is one of 12 schools set to play in Ghana’s biggest high school basketball tournament as Eastern Regional representatives alongside bitter rival Koforidua Senior High Technical School (KSTS).
With exactly a week to the start of the competition, the alumni presented several basketballs to the playing unit during a training session at the school’s premise in Koforidua.
POJOSS Headmistress Benedicta Foli was on hand to accept the presentation with the school’s Physical Education Department Head Fred Dwamenah.
A member of the school’s prominent alumni Emmanuel Adu Sarkodee CEO of CDH Financial Holdings funded the construction of a brand new court last year.
POJOSS has won two bronze medals in the past three editions of Sprite Ball and featuring in three straight semifinals.
Sprite Ball is organized by leading sports firm Rite Sports Limited.
