Ghana’s biggest high school basketball competition is set to run from January 11-12 at the El Wak Stadium in Accra with 20 schools participating.

Ahead of the prestigious competition, Basketballghana.com takes a critical look at the major items to look out for in the upcoming tournament.

Kumasi Girls Senior High School won its maiden national title last year with a 30-29 win overtime over Accra Wesley Girls High School in arguably the best final in the Girls Division.

The achievement was huge for the school that played in its first ever Sprite Ball in January 2016 and made the finals in its second appearance.

However, the school will be attempting to successfully defend its title like it accomplished at the regional stage late last year.

Since Ashanti Regional rival T.I. Ahmadiyya Senior High School won back to back Championships in 2014 and 2015, no team in the female division has won two straight titles.

Kumasi Girls Coach Zibo Brown is adamant his side will end that run.
