Ghana’s biggest high school basketball competition is set to run from January 11-12 at the El Wak Stadium in Accra with 20 schools participating.

Ahead of the prestigious competition, Basketballghana.com takes a critical look at the major items to look out for in the upcoming tournament.

Accra Wesley Girls High School ranks as one of the best in the Girls Division of Ghana’s biggest high school basketball tournament in the past three years.

However, the school has missed out winning the Sprite Ball Trophy twice in 2016 and 2018 Finals. After losing to Aggrey Memorial Zion, the Kaneshie-based institution lost a thrilling final 29-30 to Kumasi Girls Senior High School in January last year.

The quest for the elusive title continues in the upcoming edition which runs from January 11-12 at the El Wak Stadium in Accra.

Accra Wesley Girls is the biggest attraction in the eight team division aside defending champs Kumasi Girls and with a slew of former winners including Aggrey Memorial missing out in this year’s edition, the team has a big chance to clinch its first ever title.
