Basketballghana.com can confirm the draw for this year’s Sprite Ball Championship will be held on Friday, January 4 ahead of the main championship.
The event will be broadcast live on the competition’s official page on Facebook at 15:00 GMT where the 20 participating schools will know their fate in the tournament’s preliminary round.
Sprite Ball is Ghana’s biggest high school basketball competition and 12 schools in the Boys Division and eight schools in the Girls Division will compete in the upcoming tournament.
This year’s competition will be held at the El Wak Stadium in Accra from January 11-12 and the draw to determine various groups in both divisions has been moved to tomorrow.
The desired event was scheduled to take place later tonight but has been cancelled and fitted with a digital touch.
Reports indicate the move is line with organizers, Rite Sports Limited’s- push to make the event more accessible to a large audience.
Kumasi Girls Senior High School and Osu-PRESEC are defending Girls and Male Division Champions.
