The year 2018 is almost over and Basketballghana.com looks takes a look at the some of the high points in the basketball calendar.
In Ghana’s most prestigious club basketball competition, the Accra Basketball League (ABL), Braves of Customs and Adabraka CYO won titles in the league’s various competitions.
Braves won the ABL Men’s Division I without losing a game in 18 games and run off with another league title cementing its mark as the most dominant league side in Ghana.
The team moved out of the country to participate in the FIBA Zone 3 Qualifiers in Cotonou, Benin but missed out on a qualification spot.
Customs won two of five games to place fourth in the six team competition with Nigerian side Rivers Hoopers placing first.
Suleman Abubakar was named to the competition’s best team while winning individual awards in blocks and rebounds. Shooting Guard Baniba Dodzi led all players in three point shots made.
It was Abubakar’s second straight inclusion in the Zone 3 team of the tournament.
