Ghana Center Amida Brimah produced a low key performance for Austin Spurs in the NBA Gatorade League earlier this morning.
The 6 foot 11 inch defender had six rebounds, three points and two blocks in 21 minutes off the bench behind starting Center Chimedzie Metu in Spurs 84-91 loss to Salt Lake City Stars.
The American-Nigerian produced a double double with 16 points and 13 rebounds for the defending league champions’ ninth loss of the season. Ben Moore had a 14 point, 10 rebound showing.
Brimah went into the game on a good run of form posting multiple double doubles in his second season in the league.
However, the former University of Connecticut had a poor shooting night converting just one of four attempts from the field.
His luck didn’t improve from the free throw line either as he scored just one of five shot attempts in the losing effort.
Stars duo Tyler Cavanaugh and Isaiah Cousins led all scorers dropping 18 points apiece with Cavanaugh adding 11 rebounds.
