Accra Wesley Girls Senior High School is determined to win the 2019 Sprite Ball Championship according to Headmistress Cynthia Essibrey-Annan.

She made the statement in an interview during the Greater Accra leg of the Sprite Ball Trophy Tour earlier this month.

The 2019 edition of Ghana’s biggest high school basketball competition runs from January 11-12 at the El Wak Stadium in Accra.

Accra Wesley Girls is representing the region alongside West African Senior High School (WASS) in the Girls Division of the competition against six other participants.

Responding to questions regarding her team’s ability to bounce back after losing twice in the final game in three years, Headmistress Essibrey-Annan.

“We are strong, we are determined, we are brave we are going to carry this cup-Sprite Ball Trophy” she said in a chat with Basketballghana.com

After losing the 2016 final to Aggrey Memorial Zion, Accra Wesley lost 29-30 to Kumasi Girls Senior High School in overtime in this year’s final. Kumasi Girls is returning to the competition.
