Reigning Sprite Ball Champions Kumasi Girls Senior High School is training hard ahead of the upcoming edition of Ghana’s biggest high school basketball championship but taking a relaxed approach according to Headmistress Cecilia Nana Yeboah.

She made this statement in an interview during the Ashanti Regional leg of the 2019 Sprite Ball Trophy Tour earlier this month.

Kumasi Girls and St. Louis Senior High School are representing the region at the 2019 edition which runs from January 11-12 at the El Wak Stadium in Accra.

The 2018 Champions successfully defended its regional title by beating St. Louis 17-12 in the final game played at the Our Lady of Grace Senior High School in Mampongteng.

“We are training very well at the same time we are relaxed because we know that we are going to annex it-the cup- easily for the second time. So the other teams watch for KGEE we are going to do it in a grand style this time” Headmistress Yeboah said.

Kumasi Girls topped Accra Wesley Girls High School 30-29 in overtime to win the 2018 Trophy.
