Ghana Center Amida Brimah’s NBA Gatorade League side Austin Spurs has made moves to get production from the Guard position by signing veteran player Demetri McCamey.
His signing comes at a time former Colorado University Guard Derrick White is no longer with the team following his promotion to Austin’s affiliate side in the NBA, San Antonio Spurs.
McCamey replaces White who helped Austin win last season’s title by sweeping Raptors 905 in the G-League Finals Series.
Spurs new signing has had a two year stint with Spurs in the Gatorade League averaging 9.1 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 49 games in 2015-2016.
Since 2016, McCarmey has been active on the European scene featuring for clubs in Turkey and in Italy for Fortitudo Bologna.
Connor Buchfield has been subsequently waived. Brimah formed a formidable partnership with White with White assisting Brimah on a chunk of alley oop passes and great finds inside the paint.
Brimah, McCarmey and the rest of Austin Spurs take on Salt Lake City on Friday, December 28.
