St. Louis Senior High School expects to win the 2019 Sprite Ball Championship according to the school’s Sports Department Head Justice Peter.

He made the statement during the Ashanti Regional leg of the Sprite Ball Trophy Tour earlier this month as the school continues preparations for its long awaited return to the national competition.

St. Louis qualified to Ghana’s biggest high school basketball competition for the first time since 2011 after placing second in the regional qualifiers held at the Our Lady of Grace Senior High School.

Reigning national champions Kumasi Girls Senior High School beat St. Louis 17-12 to lift the regional title; the title is Kumasi Girls second straight trophy grab.

“Apart from the Cup, we are expecting nothing” Peter said of the Coach Benjamin Sarpong led team set to compete in the Female Division from January 11-12 at the El Wak Stadium in Accra in 2019.

Headmistress Ama Kyerewa Benefo added “we are poised for it (to win the Cup)”. St. Louis and Kumasi Girls are representing Ashanti Region in the eight team roster at the national games.
