Kumasi Girls are the reigning champions as the days tick down to the commencement of next year’s competition. The 2019 Sprite Ball Championship runs from January 11-12 at the El Wak Stadium in Accra.
Coach Brown completed his vows to his longtime partner earlier on Saturday in Ghana’s Ashanti Region capital, Kumasi with a simple ceremony.
Brown gained national attention after leading Kumasi Girls to the 2018 Championship via a 30-29 overtime over Accra Wesley Girls High School.
His association with the team has turned around the fortunes of Kumasi Girls into an unstoppable juggernaut after its maiden appearance in Ghana’s biggest high school basketball competition in 2016.
Kumasi Girls earlier this year, successfully retained its regional title with a 17-12 win over St. Louis Senior High School at the Our Lady of Grace Senior High School.
Kumasi Girls and St. Louis will represent the region come January.
