Presbyterian Boys Senior High School (PRESEC-Legon) is one of the biggest names to miss out on playing in the 2019 Sprite Ball Championship.

The school lost 5-15 to West Africa Senior High School (WASS) in the final game of the Greater Accra Regional qualifiers earlier this month.

However, reports reaching Basketballghana.com indicate PRESEC-Legon rested most of its key players in the final game under the impression they had secured the second spot available to the region.

This turned out to be a costly decision as one slot was available to Boys Division winner all along with national champions Osu-PRESEC guaranteed a spot in the upcoming edition by virtue of being defending champions.

The communication miscue prevented the 2014 National Silver Medalist from presenting its strongest lineup to battle WASS for the sole qualification spot.

WASS will represent the region in the Boys Division and do same in the Girls Division with Accra Wesley Girls High School at next year’s competition from January 11-12 at the El Wak Stadium in Accra.
