Sekondi College (SEKCO) will play in the Sprite Ball Championship for the first time in the school’s history but the school looks and talks confidently about its prowess ahead of the competition.
The 2019 Sprite Ball Championship runs from January 11-12 at the El Wak Stadium in Accra with 12 schools competing in the Boys Division and eight schools competing in the Girls Division.
SEKCO will compete at the national games in the Boys Division representing Ghana’s Western Region alongside St. John’s School.
With little over three weeks to the start of the competition, the school’s Male Basketball nicknamed the “Spartans” are preparing feverishly.
In a chat with Basketballghana.com as the school hosted the Sprite Ball Trophy Tour contingent on its premises recently, Headmaster Francis Rexford Sam was adamant his outfit will beat expectations.
“We feel great…this trophy is coming to Sekondi College this year. This Cup that has come to this Palace is not going anywhere” he stated.
Shama Senior High School represents the region in the Girls Division in Ghana’s biggest High School basketball tournament.
