Accra Wesley Girls High School Headmistress Cynthia Essibrey-Annan has stated her school’s basketball team is aiming at winning the 2019 Sprite Ball Championship.
She made the statement when Accra Wesley Girls hosted the Sprite Ball Trophy Tour entourage recently during the Greater Accra leg of the Tour.
The 2019 edition of Ghana’s biggest High School Basketball tournament takes place from January 11-12 at the El Wak Stadium in Accra.
Accra Wesley Girls will represent Greater Accra in January alongside West Africa Senior High School in the eight team division.
Accra Wesley Girls has featured in two Sprite Ball Championship finals but lost both to Aggrey Memorial Zion and Kumasi Girls High School.
However, Headmistress Essibrey-Annan is confident the barren run will end in 2019 saying:
“We work hard, we pray with our girls… they assure us Madam don’t worry we are going to bring the Cup this time round we are going to make it”.
Defending National Champions Osu-PRESEC and West Africa Senior High represent the region in the Boys Division.
