After losing its first game of the 2018-2019 Greece A1 Basketball League season to Panathinaikos, Peristeri GS got back to winning ways this past weekend.
The side topped Pananios 74-71 to clinch its eighth win in nine games with Ghana Forward Ben Bentil scoring 13 points in the win.
Bentil played 26 minutes off the bench and dropped the double digit mark adding ten rebounds and an assist. His point tally was second behind teammate Steven Gray.
His double double production was the game’s sole mark and majority of his points came from the free throw line as he converted eight of 10 attempts.
The 6 foot 8 inch combo Forward scored one of two attempts from the field and one of three attempts from three point line.
Peristeri remains third in the league after win as league leaders Panathinaikos and Olympiakos registered wins to maintain their positions.
On Saturday, December 22, Peristeri takes on Olympiakos in the headline game of Round 10. Bentil is the first Ghana born player to play in the NBA.
