Panthers Basketball Club lost its third game in the first round of the 2018-2019 Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division II season.
The team lost 53-61 to Tudu Galaxy in the first of two games played at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu in Week 9 of the season.
Dunk Knights topped Ada Knights late on in the final game of the day courtesy a 65-59 win despite trailing the entire game until the final minutes.
Panthers lost its third of the season as it battled hard to offset the absence of a bench against the younger and energetic Galaxy side.
Just five players turned up for Panthers in its first round final game headlined by veterans Rafiq Arthur and Forward Feranmi Olunlonyo.
Despite the loss, Panthers remain in second place with 15 points ahead of Galaxy due to a superior goal difference as both teams are tied on points.
Unlike Panthers, Galaxy has had a better end to the season after losing two straight games to begin the campaign.
