Tema Community Basketball League Representative Kenneth Caesar has reflected on Ashaiman Lions non participation in the just ended postseason and the possible outcomes if the team had participated.

He stated these thoughts in an interview with Basketballghana.com following the conclusion of the 2018 campaign that had Nungua Coldstore walk away with the league title. Coldstore beat Tema Heat 53-49 in Game 3 of the Finals Series to clinch the title.

However, two time league finalists Ashaiman Lions withdrew from the postseason despite ending the regular season with the second seed.

Lions cited unhappiness over what team deemed unfair treatment from sections of the League’s top hierarchy towards them.

Reflecting on the aftermath of the decision, Caesar stated, “It’s a pity Ashaiman (Lions) were not able to finish the league with us. Maybe, maybe the story would have been different”.

Lions played in the 2016 and 2017 Finals but lost to Coldstore and Tema Community 4 in those years. Ashaiman Forward Carl Kuzagbe was named Defensive Player of the Year in 2016.
