Ghana’s Greater Accra Region was the first point of call for this year’s Sprite Ball Trophy Tour as representatives of the region caught a firsthand glimpse of the coveted trophy.
The next edition of Ghana’s biggest High School Basketball tournament-Sprite Ball Championship- comes off on January 11-12 at the El Wak Stadium in Accra.
Greater Accra has four representatives in the upcoming tournament which has 12 schools set to play in the Boys Division and eight schools to do same in the Girls Division.
West Africa Senior High School (WASS) and Presbyterian Boys Senior High School (PRESEC-Osu) will represent Greater Accra in the Boys Division.
Accra Wesley Girls High School and WASS are the region’s representatives for the region in the Girls Division and the Tour entourage visited all four schools.
Osu-PRESEC are defending national champions and Accra Wesley Girls featured in the finals of the last edition held in January this year.
Enthusiastic congregation of students greeted the entourage on arrival and head tutors of the respective institutions gave assurances of their support before, during and after the competition.
