West Africa Senior High School (WASS) has accomplished a rare feat as it prepares to participate in the next Sprite Ball Championship in 2019.
The upcoming edition of Ghana’s biggest High School Basketball competition runs from January 11-12 at the El Wak Stadium in Accra.
WASS has qualified to play in the tournament in the Girls Division and Boys Division after starring in the Greater Accra Regional Qualifiers.
WASS topped Presbyterian Boys Senior High School (PRESEC-Legon) 15-5 in the Boys Final to qualify alongside defending national champions PRESEC-Osu in the Boys Division.
In the Girls Division, WASS walked away with another dominant victory scoring a 16-5 win over Accra Wesley Girls High School.
Accra Wesley Girls is a two time Sprite Ball finalist and missed out on a gold medal for the second time in January this year after losing 29-30 to Kumasi Girls High School in Overtime.
By representing in both divisions, WASS joins rare company in Aggrey Memorial Zion Senior High School as the schools to have reps in both divisions in the history of Sprite Ball.
