Ghana Forward Ben Bentil came off the bench as his side Persiteri GS lost for the first time in the Greek A1 Basketball League.
Peristeri lost 75-80 to Greek Giant Panathinaikos in the biggest game of the round featuring two top 3 teams in the 14 team league.
Former NBA Point Guard Nick Calathes was the game’s joint top scorer with 20 points and he completed his dominant performance for Panathinaikos with nine assists and four rebounds.
Bentil scored six points, two assists and three rebounds in 26 minutes; Bentil missed his only free throw attempt and both attempts from three point range.
The former Boston Celtics Forward did have some joy from the field as he scored three of six attempts in his first loss since joining the team prior to the season.
Peristeri drops from first to third in the standings with seven wins in eight games while Panathinaikos jumps to the league’s summit with seven wins in seven games. Olympiakos is in second place.
Peristeri plays Pananios on Saturday, December 15.
