Nungua Coldstore Bankroller and Nungua Warehouse Group Limited Top Executive Wendell Otoo has splashed major cash on his team after Coldstore emerged winners of the 2018 Tema Community Basketball League.
Coldstore beat Tema Heat 53-49 in a tense game played earlier tonight at the Tema Community 4 Court. Nungua clinched the trophy with a 2-1 win in the Finals Series.
Nungua was put through the mill by Heat who lead 47-40 with just over a couple of minutes left to play in the game before turning it around on the back of a crucial six point run.
The win follows an 86-56 beat down Nungua handed to Heat in Game 2 to tie the series after a 58-63 loss in Game One.
Witnessing the immense efforts from his lads, Otoo, who doubles as Head Coach, was moved to match the players’ contributions with the mammoth sum. This was disclosed after individual players on the team including Shooting Guard Jonathan Walker were rewarded.
Otoo won the Coach of the Year Award.
