Nungua Coldstore officially has 22 wins in 24 games played this season and can improve that mark with a win in tonight’s title decider.
Coldstore plays Tema Heat in the final game of the 2018 Tema Community Basketball League at the Tema Community 4 Court tonight at 17:30 GMT.
Another win gives Nungua its second league title and its 23rd victory of the campaign which will be the Tema League’s best ever mark.
Coldstore won the 2016 title with seven teams competing in the regular season and just one round of postseason games before sweeping Ashaiman Lions in the finals series.
2017 winners Tema Community 4 had more than three losses in the campaign before sweeping Lions in the finals for a shock win.
Nungua had 17 wins in 18 regular season games and has delivered sweeping two game wins over Akatsi Rifles and Tema Community 2 respectively in the post season.
Its second loss this season was in a 58-63 losing effort to Heat in Game One of the finals series before recovering to win 86-56. The winner of Game 3 tonight wins the league.
