Word reaching Basketballghana.com indicates LIR Royals Basketball Club did not turn up at the Sunyani Technical University (STU) Court in Sunyani to honour its game against Barracks Scorpions this morning.
The game was set to be the opening fixture in Week 7 of the 2018-2019 GSP Basketball League but the matchup did not take place due to Royals failure to show up at the venue.
This is the third time in the very young season a team has forfeited its game in the league; Catholic University College (CUCG) Saints did same a few weeks back.
Scorpions were culpable for the same offence as the side did not honour a matchup earlier this season at the Eusbett Court.
Thanks to the latest incident, Scorpions has been awarded a win with a 20 points added to its goal difference for the season.
CUCG plays Desert Rabbits while West Siders take on defending league champions Suncity Braves. Suncity double as league leaders.
Spartans take on Techiman Merchants in a game that pits two debutants against each other and Young Boys play host STU in the final game.
