Mfantsipim School is still in its preparatory stage for the upcoming Sprite Ball Championship according to Coach Isaac Mensah.
He made the statement in an exclusive interview with Basketballghana.com after leading Mfantsipim to a 23-16 win over Adisadel College in the recently ended Central Regional Qualifiers.
The pair has qualified to the 2019 Sprite Ball Championship to be held from January 11-12 at the El Wak Stadium in Accra with 20 teams participating.
Mfantsipim breezed through the qualifiers Winneba Senior High School 37-7 in the preliminary games en route to successfully defending its title.
Coach Mensah’s side switches focus to the national championship and the veteran trainer believes his side is still going through the preparation phase.
“We are still preparing…so that when we get there if there is a need for us to change our game plan” Mensah said after the victory.
Mfantsipim are record winners in the Boys Division of Ghana’s biggest High School basketball tournament-Sprite Ball- but has lost in three straight finals including this year’s 22-25 loss to PRESEC-Osu.
