Braves of Customs Coach Lawal Brimah has attributed his team’s 52-70 loss to Rivers Hoopers from Nigeria to a poor first quarter showing.
Customs lost to Hoopers in its second game at the FIBA Africa Champions Cup Zone 3 taking place in Cotonou, Benin. Baniba Dodzi scored 20 points, Abubakar Suleman produced nine points and 14 rebounds while Daniel Aryee added seven points and 12 rebounds for Braves.
Customs trailed 8-31 at the end of the first quarter but played better in the remaining quarters but couldn’t dig itself out of the big hole.
The Ghanaian representative’s efforts in the opening quarter left much to be desired and veteran trainer Brimah quickly pointed it out in his chat with aclsports.
“In our first game we encountered the same thing and this second game same thing happened. The problem usually starts from the first quarter and we have been trying to solve it. We are hoping our third game tomorrow will be different” Lawal stated.
Braves play AS Police from Niger in its next game. Police lost 44-70 to Nigeria’s Civil Defenders.
