Mfantsiman Girls Senior High School Basketball Captain Hikma Sanusi has expressed her happiness over her team’s qualification to next year’s Sprite Ball.

The 2019 Sprite Ball Championship takes place on January 11-12 at the El Wak Stadium in Accra with eight schools in the Girls Division set to compete.

Mfantsiman sealed its place in the division at the national level after beating Wesley Girls High School 7-6 in the Central Regional final played recently at Adisadel College in Cape Coast.

After missing out on the Championship in the last two editions, Mfantsiman returns aiming to improve on two bronze medals it has won in the competition’s history.

Leading her side to end the qualification drought, Sanusi stated:

“I feel very happy and I thank God for everything…we are going back to camp (and) we are not just going to (Sprite Ball) to play, we are going to win. It wasn’t easy getting here”.

Aside beating record winners of the division (Wesley Girls), Mfantsiman eliminated two time national champions Aggrey Memorial Zion Senior High School at the zonal level.
