Mfantsipim School Basketball Team Captain Kuuku Mensah has pointed out his outfit is different from the immediate past group.
In an exclusive interview with Basketballghana.com on the sidelines of the Central Regional Qualifiers for next year’s Sprite Ball Championship, Mensah fingered shooting as the standalone quality with the team.
Mfantsipim School beat host Adisadel College 23-16 in the final game to successfully defend its title; both schools have qualified to the next Sprite Ball which will be held from January 11-12 at the El Wak Stadium in Accra.
Despite winning the coveted title on five occasions, Mfantsipim has missed out on a sixth title in the straight Boys Division finals.
“This team is a different one; I would say we have a lot of people (who) can shoot…now we have like three shooters on our team“ Mensah said.
Mfantsipim lost twice to reigning champions Presbyterian Boys Senior High School (PRESEC-Osu) in the last Sprite Ball. Osu PRESEC won the final game 25-22 and humiliated Mfantsipim with 43-14 win.
