Dunk Knights were missing a lot of bodies in its matchup against Swanlakers earlier tonight at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu in the Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division II.
Knights had just five players available for selection and played the final five minutes of the contest with four players due to foul trouble but managed to clinch a 66-63 win.
In a game that barley sparkled in the first half, the second half was more engaged and exciting which got the sparse crowd at the venue very keen about proceedings.
Dunk snapped a two game losing run with the win but Swanlakers have just a win in seven games and couldn’t take advantage of its bigger size and roster.
Dunk ended the first half leading 26-22 after leading 13-7 in a dull first quarter with very little action from both teams.
Treasure Botchwey willed Dunk into the game after falling 35-44 in the third quarter with strong drives to the basket. He scored a couple more points from the free throw line. Swanlakers led 48-47 at the end of the third quarter
Knights Guard Botchwey went on one of his trademark power drives to the rim to give Dunk a 53-52 lead with 7:16 minutes left on the clock. Game was tied at 58 with 2:22 remaining. Dunk won 66-63
